AI-Driven Strategy for Smart Factory Systems: Data-Centric Technology, Tools, and Talents

At the International Smart Factory Summit 2025, held from June 11ᵗʰ to 13ᵗʰ at Switzerland Innovation Park Biel, Professor Jay Lee presented presented how at the Industrial AI Center, traditional AI/ML methods (which have been in use since 20+ years) are being extended with the latest capabilities of AI/GenAI, and Digital-Twins. Transfer-learning of ML models across systems is a complex topic they are working on to improve the deployment of Industrial AI across fleets of machines. Training of workforces will be key as manufacturing becomes increasingly inter-disciplinary.
